About This Series
After days of heavy rain, the Sierra Foothills transform into a moody, cinematic landscape, where low clouds weave through pine forests and the remnants of past wildfires stand as dark silhouettes. This collection captures that brief, haunting calm after the storm.
Shot entirely with a DJI Mavic 4 Pro, these aerial images showcase the rugged beauty of Northern California’s wilderness from above... a place where mist, mountains, and light constantly shift and reshape the scenery.
I’ve spent years exploring and photographing this region, and every storm brings something different: drifting fog, golden autumn trees, or the stark contrast of blackened trunks against new growth. These photos are a small glimpse into the quiet, raw side of California that often goes unseen once the rain clears.
